The Chengdu traffic police department recently uncovered a cheating scheme during a motorcycle driver theory test. An individual was caught using specialized electronic devices to attempt to pass the examination on October 16.
The suspect utilized AI-powered glasses and a smart ring to scan test questions and receive answers. Upon inspection, officers found that the equipment was ineffective, providing incorrect answers to multiple-choice questions despite the user's personal practice tests showing an 85 percent accuracy rate.
The individual admitted to purchasing the devices online due to anxiety over failing the test, having previously struggled with theory exams for a standard driver's license. The equipment failed to function as promised during a live demonstration conducted by the police.
Following the investigation, authorities imposed a fine of ¥1900 on the man. Additionally, he is prohibited from applying for a driver's license for a period of one year under current traffic regulations.
