Four major technology corporations, Intel, IBM, Oracle, and IonQ, have officially filed objections against the inclusion of their shares in a tokenized stock exchange proposed by OKX and Intercontinental Exchange. These companies join a growing list of entities refusing to participate in the initiative.

The total number of companies that have formally objected to the OKX-ICE proposal has reached 26. This list includes other prominent firms such as Alphabet, Wells Fargo, and Goldman Sachs. The objections follow a recent decision by the US Securities and Exchange Commission to grant temporary innovation exemptions for tokenized stocks.

The initial proposal from OKX and ICE included 62 companies for the tokenized listing. With the latest filings, approximately 41% of the originally proposed entities have opted out of the project. Andrew Cuomo, co-chair of the venture, stated that he expects additional companies to join the list of objectors in the future.

The regulatory environment remains complex for such initiatives. Nasdaq, which recently invested $100 million in Kraken parent company Payward, issued guidance in September advising issuers to exercise caution regarding participation in innovation exemptions for tokenized assets.
