Li Auto has scheduled the official unveiling of its new flagship electric SUV, the i9, for September 16. The vehicle is the second model in the company's Home series and features a six-seat configuration with rotating seats for face-to-face interaction.

The SUV measures 5,225 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, and 1,752 mm in height, with a 3,168 mm wheelbase. It is powered by a dual-motor system comprising a 150 kW front motor and a 250 kW rear motor. The 120 kWh battery pack allows for a CLTC range of over 800 km.

The company plans to transition from CATL batteries to its own self-developed units manufactured by Sunwoda and CALB. Initial i9 shipments will include CATL batteries, with Sunwoda-branded versions to follow later.

This strategy follows previous consumer resistance to battery variations in the i8 and i6 models. Li Auto previously offered extended warranties worth ¥3,999 or $600 to encourage the adoption of alternative battery suppliers, but will now standardize its battery sourcing.
