Lexus has introduced the MyLexusEV rebate program for California residents to support sales of its all-electric RZ and ES EV models. Unlike the state-run MyFirstEV Program, the new incentive does not impose a price cap on vehicles or restrict eligibility to first-time electric vehicle owners.
The MyLexusEV rebate provides an instant discount of $2,500. Customers can combine this offer with other existing promotions, such as the $4,000 Lease Cash Incentive currently available for the 2026 Lexus RZ, allowing for total savings of up to $6,500.
The state-run MyFirstEV Program, which Lexus is bypassing with its own initiative, offers up to $3,500 for new zero-emission vehicles and $1,750 for used ones. However, it limits participation to first-time owners and excludes vehicles with an MSRP exceeding $50,000.
Lexus aims to bolster the market performance of its electric lineup. In the first half of the year, the company sold 7,814 units of the RZ, marking a 106.8 percent increase compared to the 3,779 units sold during the same period in 2025.
Sales for the ES model have seen a decline of 79.7 percent this year, dropping to 3,896 units from 19,181 in the previous year. This decrease is largely linked to the transition into the eighth generation of the model rather than a shift in consumer demand.
