Lexus is testing a new, more extreme version of the LBX crossover in Europe. The prototype builds upon the existing LBX Morizo RR, which was introduced in 2024, with a primary focus on weight reduction through the use of carbon fiber components.
The camouflaged test vehicle features a roof that appears to be made of carbon fiber, a design element shared with high-end versions of the Toyota GR Corolla. Additionally, the prototype is equipped with a carbon fiber rear bumper that includes functional lower vents positioned between the dual exhaust pipes.
The vehicle also sports a new rear spoiler, which may also be constructed from carbon fiber. While technical specifications for this specific variant remain undisclosed, the base LBX Morizo RR model was developed with the involvement of Akio Toyoda.
The current LBX Morizo RR is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that produces 300 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The drivetrain options include an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission, both paired with a full-time all-wheel drive system, allowing for a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 5.2 seconds.
