Leonardo DiCaprio has invested an undisclosed amount in the Swedish energytech startup Elvy. This move follows the company's €5.9 million funding round in May 2026 and a €500 million credit facility secured in December 2025. Elvy reported a tenfold increase in revenue during 2025 compared to the previous year.

Founded in 2023, Elvy provides smart energy systems and software through a subscription model. The company claims its technology can reduce household energy consumption by an average of 60%. CEO Johan Outinen stated that the startup has launched its own subsidy program to support the transition to renewable energy for consumers.

The investment occurs within a broader trend in the European energy sector. EU-Startups recorded over €160.9 million in funding for companies focused on household electrification and energy management in 2026. Notable recent deals include €21 million for Axle Energy, €15 million for Photoncycle, and €10 million for GALVANY.

Berlin-based Cloover also secured significant capital this year, including a €1.02 billion debt facility in January and €86.2 million in financing in September. These investments highlight the growing interest in residential energy deployment and distributed energy management across the European market.
