Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing has confirmed the company's strategic objective to capture a 30% share of the global personal computer market. To achieve this, the manufacturer plans to strengthen its presence across both corporate and consumer segments.
The industry currently faces challenges including a shortage of key components and rising production costs. According to the company's leadership, global PC shipments may experience a temporary decline in the near future, creating operational hurdles for manufacturers.
To maintain financial performance, Lenovo is shifting its product mix toward high-performance PCs equipped with artificial intelligence features. These devices command higher average prices compared to traditional models, which helps offset potential drops in shipment volumes.
Data from IDC for the third quarter of 2026 shows that Lenovo shipped 14.9 million units, securing a 23.8% market share. The company needs to gain an additional 6.2 percentage points to reach its 30% target.
