Huawei has unveiled the HM650 desktop computer, which is the first PC in China to be built entirely from domestically produced components. The device has received an industry-first certification confirming the complete localization of its hardware platform.

Zhu Dongdong, head of Huawei's tablet and PC division, announced the development at the Huawei Cloud 2026 HarmonyOS Office Industry Summit. He noted that the company achieved full independence from foreign parts through internal development, partnerships with local suppliers, and support for expanding domestic production.

The project involved thousands of manufacturers across the Chinese supply chain. The HM650 is powered by a proprietary Kirin processor and runs on the HarmonyOS operating system, ensuring that both software and hardware are fully localized.

Huawei positions this computer as a significant milestone for the domestic PC industry. The company expects the device to be primarily adopted by government agencies and corporate clients seeking to reduce reliance on foreign technologies.
