LAZ Parking and EverCharge have launched a joint service designed to expand EV charging access in apartment and condo buildings. The initiative utilizes EverCharge’s SmartPower technology, which dynamically distributes available electricity among connected vehicles. This approach allows property owners to install up to five times more charging ports without requiring expensive electrical infrastructure upgrades.

The new service, branded as LAZ Multifamily EV Charging Powered by EverCharge SmartPower, will be deployed across LAZ’s existing footprint in the United States and Canada. LAZ currently manages approximately 2.1 million parking spaces across 5,700 locations. EverCharge, a subsidiary of GO, already maintains over 10,000 charging ports at more than 1,000 residential properties, serving over 50,000 registered drivers.

The rollout will feature EverCharge’s EVO3 Level 2 charging hardware. Following this expansion, LAZ reports that its total charging network across North America has reached 25,000 ports. While the companies have not disclosed specific pricing for residents or identified initial installation sites, they intend to explore future applications for commercial fleets, ride-hailing, and delivery services, including battery swapping.

The partnership aims to address the common barrier of limited electrical capacity in multi-unit residential buildings. By managing charging output in real time based on site availability, the companies seek to reduce the need for costly electrical work. No specific timeline or installation targets for the new residential projects were provided in the announcement.
