British company La Cinquecento has unveiled a custom restomod project based on the classic Fiat 500. The vehicle, which utilizes a donor car from the 1970s, features a twin-spark two-cylinder engine sourced from a Fiat 126. The company reports improved torque and throttle response, though specific output figures remain undisclosed.

The exterior design was developed by the Milan-based studio BorromeodeSilva. Modifications include wider fenders, rally-style front bumper lights, deeper side skirts, and matte-finish disc wheels. The interior incorporates saddle-colored leather bucket seats, vintage carpets, and color-matched accents.

Engineers have overhauled the suspension, steering, braking, cooling, and electrical systems of the original city car. Founder Max Kindersley noted that the project aims to enhance performance while maintaining the character of the 1957 original.

The prototype recently debuted at the Tutto Bene hillclimb event in Italy. La Cinquecento plans to produce a limited, numbered series of these vehicles. The company is currently accepting applications of interest via its website, though pricing details have not been released.
