The liquid staking protocol Kinetiq has officially ended its kPoints rewards program, which operated for 46 weeks and distributed 36.8 million points. Instead of a free token distribution, the platform is offering points holders the opportunity to purchase 50 million KNTQ tokens at a fixed price of $0.26 per unit.

The claim window for these tokens opened on October 1, 2026, and will remain active for 10 days. The 50 million KNTQ allocation represents 5% of the total supply of 1 billion tokens. If fully claimed, the sale could generate $13 million in gross proceeds. Purchased tokens have no lockup or vesting periods and are available for immediate use.

The announcement follows a period of price volatility for KNTQ, which reached an all-time high of approximately $0.448 on October 1, 2026, before declining by more than 20% to trade near $0.33. The circulating supply of the token currently ranges between 280 million and 335 million units.

Kinetiq is also implementing changes to its tokenomics through the KIP-5 governance proposal. This initiative directs revenue-funded buybacks to the Hyperliquid Assistance Fund to reduce the total supply of KNTQ. Previously, the protocol purchased over 5.39 million KNTQ at an average price of $0.15.
