Data from Hyperliquid indicates that up to 96.1% of XRP long positions were opened at prices higher than the current market level. Between October 13 and 15, 2026, the token traded between $1.28 and $1.50, eventually settling in the $1.30 to $1.34 range.
Despite the losses, a significant long position valued at approximately $47 million remains profitable, having been opened at a price of around $1.13. Meanwhile, open interest on OKX decreased by about 29.7% from September 22 to October 14, falling from 150.4 million to 105.7 million contracts.
Market sentiment remains bullish among remaining traders, with the long-to-short account ratio hitting 3.6:1 on October 14, the highest level since mid-August 2026. Additionally, the share of coin-margined long positions among top traders rose to 84.2%, an increase of 4.8 percentage points.
The reliance on coin-margined contracts increases risk, as price drops affect both the position and the underlying collateral. Analysts suggest that further price declines could trigger liquidations, as current long exposure remains high relative to short positions.
