Kia has initiated the deployment of 200 custom PV5 electric vans to The Korea Post for mail delivery services. This rollout follows a pilot program where the company tested modified PV5 Cargo units at nine regional post offices in South Korea to collect feedback from mail carriers.
The customized vans feature specific design improvements, including an aluminum cargo floor, a flat interior area, and door-damage prevention systems. These modifications were implemented based on direct suggestions from postal workers to streamline the loading and unloading process.
Beyond vehicle supply, the partnership includes comprehensive support for the transition to electric transport. Kia will provide The Korea Post with specialized EV training, maintenance services, and customized charging solutions for their fleet operations.
The company is actively expanding its PBV business, with current partnerships involving organizations such as Korea Electric Power Corp, Coupang Partners Association, and GeoYoung. Kia now offers 10 different body styles for the PV5 model, including Open Bed, WAV, and Chassis Cab variants.
Global sales for the PV5 van exceeded 39 000 units during the first eight months of 2026. Kia plans to further broaden its lineup next week by unveiling the larger PV7 electric van at the IAA Transportation event.
