Kia has secured its position as the fastest-growing top 10 passenger car brand in Europe for the year to date. According to data from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association, the company recorded 377,078 vehicle registrations between January and August 2026, marking a 9% increase over the same period in 2025.

The brand’s market share in the region reached 4.1% by the end of August, ranking it ninth overall. Growth was driven by a 58% surge in electric vehicle registrations, giving Kia a 4.8% share of the European EV market. Strong demand was noted in France, Germany, the UK, Spain, and Italy, with growth rates ranging from 41% to 120%.

The company’s electric lineup now includes the EV2, EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6, EV9, and the PV5 van. The entry-level EV2, which is produced in Slovakia alongside the EV4, launched earlier this year with a starting price of €26,600 in Germany and £22,245 in the UK.

In the United States, Kia is on track for its fourth consecutive record sales year. The company recently launched the EV3 in the US market, recording over 500 sales during its first full month. Unlike the EV3, the EV2 model is currently not planned for release in the American market.
