Kempower has entered into a framework agreement to supply DC fast-charging infrastructure and maintenance services to DP World across its Canadian port terminals. This partnership aims to standardize charging technology for the logistics company’s service vehicles and container-handling equipment.
The initial phase of the project involves the installation of 46 Kempower satellite chargers across terminals in Vancouver, Fraser Surrey, and Prince Rupert. These units will deliver a combined power capacity of 4.4 megawatts to support ongoing electrification efforts.
DP World currently manages five port terminals in Canada, including locations in Nanaimo and Saint John. Additionally, the company is constructing a new container terminal at the Port of Montreal, which is scheduled for commissioning by 2030.
This deal builds on an existing relationship between the two companies, following a 2024 collaboration at the London Gateway logistics hub. The new infrastructure is designed to be scalable, allowing DP World to expand its electric fleet operations in the future.
