According to a survey conducted by Kaspersky in March 2026, 60% of Russian internet users have encountered online fraud. The study, titled Digital Life: Trends, Risks, Opportunities, involved 7,200 respondents across 18 countries.

Attackers are increasingly utilizing artificial intelligence to enhance the credibility of their schemes. Fraudsters leverage personal data obtained through data leaks, infostealer malware, and account compromises to create highly personalized phishing attempts.

Common attack vectors include fake messages regarding delivery issues, account blocks, or urgent payment requests sent via SMS or messengers. Cybercriminals also employ AI to create realistic fake ticket websites, impersonate acquaintances, or use voice cloning technology.

Marina Titova, Director of Consumer Business at Kaspersky, noted that these AI-driven tactics make it difficult even for experienced users to identify threats. The company is integrating AI-based detection tools with multi-layered security to identify suspicious links and sites.
