JioHotstar, a streaming platform with over 500 million monthly active users backed by Reliance Industries, is expanding into the Middle East and North Africa. The company is partnering with Starzplay to offer a dedicated section for Indian films, TV shows, and original content.

Unlike the standalone service launches in the U.K., Canada, and Singapore, the MENA expansion integrates JioHotstar directly into the Starzplay app and website. The catalog includes content in multiple languages, such as Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Bangla.

The service offers two subscription tiers in the region. A bundle including Starzplay sports content is priced at AED 49.99 per month, while the Plus monthly plan is available for AED 34.99. JioHotstar’s own sports offerings from India are excluded from the MENA package.

JioHotstar was formed following the 2024 merger of Reliance and Disney’s Indian media businesses, valued at $8.5 billion. The platform combines JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar. Financial details regarding the new partnership with Starzplay remain undisclosed.
