Jay Clayton, the newly appointed AI czar and director of national intelligence, has been tasked with a 120-day review of risks associated with super intelligence. This initiative follows the resignation of David Sacks, who previously held the role. Clayton will lead the newly formed Super Intelligence Force, a group focused on maintaining US leadership in the sector.

The task force will collaborate with the AI industry to identify risks and opportunities. Clayton noted that the group will study existing laws and evaluate potential legislative measures for Congress. He drew parallels to risk management frameworks currently utilized in the financial sector, which were developed in coordination with the Federal Reserve and the SEC.

The formation of the task force follows a recent meeting between President Donald Trump and executives from major AI companies. During this session, the parties agreed to a set of voluntary principles, including internal controls for model development, third-party reviews, and board notifications. These measures currently lack formal penalties or requirements for public audit reporting.
