Overclocker Luumi has set a new record for the Intel Core i5-4670K in the Cinebench R11.5 benchmark, surpassing a mark that remained unbeaten for approximately 12 years. The processor, a 2013 Haswell quad-core chip manufactured on a 22 nm process, achieved a score of 10.8 cb.

To reach this result, Luumi operated the CPU at a frequency of 6,301 MHz using liquid nitrogen cooling. This clock speed represents an increase of roughly 66% over the chip's standard boost clock of 3.8 GHz. The previous record, held by user Strat, stood at 10.76 cb with a frequency of 6,249 MHz.

The setup featured an ASRock Z97 OC Formula motherboard, 4 GB of XPG DDR3 memory running at 2,708 MT/s with 8-12-7-28 timings, and a Corsair AXi 1600 power supply. The test was conducted on the Windows 7 operating system to comply with HWBot rules regarding pre-Skylake hardware.

This achievement is specific to the i5-4670K category within the HWBot rankings, which include 187 submissions. While modern 12-core laptop processors can score four times higher in the same benchmark, this effort highlights the performance limits of 13-year-old silicon.
