A viral wedding video features a bride gifting her groom an ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 graphics card. The groom reacted emotionally, displaying the hardware to guests as a significant gesture.
The ASUS ROG Astral model is a high-end custom version of the RTX 5090, built on the NVIDIA Blackwell GB202 architecture. It features 21,760 CUDA cores, 32GB of GDDR7 memory, and a 512-bit bus width.
Technical specifications include a quad-fan cooling system, a proprietary vapor chamber, and a phase-change GPU thermal pad. The core boost frequency for this specific model reaches 2610MHz.
The card originally retailed for $2,799. Due to the cessation of production and severe market shortages, the value has surged over fourfold in 12 months, reaching approximately $12,000.
NVIDIA has stopped supplying GB202 chips to AIC partners, and retailers like Micro Center have delisted the product. This supply imbalance has driven prices in domestic channels to as high as ¥25,350.
