Overclocker Luumi has set a new world record for the Intel Core i5-4670K processor in the Cinebench R11.5 benchmark. The achievement breaks a record that had remained unchallenged for 12 years.
The i5-4670K is a Haswell-architecture chip manufactured on a 22nm process. It features four cores and four threads, 6MB of cache, and integrated HD 4600 graphics. Its base clock speed is 3.4 GHz, with a boost frequency of 3.8 GHz and a TDP of 84W.
To reach the 6.3 GHz core frequency, Luumi utilized liquid nitrogen cooling and a DDR3 memory platform. This configuration resulted in a score of 10.8 cb in the Cinebench R11.5 multi-core test, securing the top spot on the HWBot leaderboard for this specific model.
While this performance is significant for the i5-4670K, it remains lower than modern hardware. Current mainstream laptops equipped with 12-core, 24-thread processors can achieve scores approximately four times higher than this overclocked vintage chip.
