Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan projects that the server CPU market will exceed $200 billion within five years, driven by the rise of agentic AI. This growth represents a significant shift from the current market size, which is estimated at $30–35 billion in 2025.

The demand for server CPUs is increasing as the industry moves toward a hardware ratio of 1:1 between CPUs and GPUs, replacing the previous ratio of one CPU for every 7–8 GPUs. Intel reports that its Data Center and AI segment revenue reached $6.3 billion in Q2 2026, marking a 59% year-over-year increase.

Despite the growth, Intel faces significant supply constraints. As of September 2026, the company can fulfill only about half of the demand for CPUs designed for advanced AI workloads. Intel is currently focusing on its 18A manufacturing process and custom ASIC development to address these challenges.

Market analysts at New Street Research project that the total server CPU market could exceed $220 billion by 2030. They estimate that Intel could capture a 20–25% share of this market, potentially reaching $50 billion in server CPU revenue by that time.
