Insta360 has launched its new wireless microphone, the Insta360 Mic, priced starting at ¥499 per transmitter. The device replaces the fixed internal storage found in the previous Mic Pro model with a microSD card slot, allowing users to utilize their own memory cards for 32-bit float internal recording.

Without a microSD card, the microphone functions as a standard wireless transmitter via Bluetooth or receiver connection. Once a card is inserted, the internal recording feature is activated, saving files directly to the storage media. This design choice aims to reduce costs for users who already own compatible microSD cards.

The new model retains several core features from the Mic Pro, including a customizable e-ink screen on the transmitter that can display user-uploaded images via the Insta360 app. The audio system continues to support AI-driven noise reduction, powered by a dedicated NPU chip to isolate human voices in noisy environments.

Battery performance has been improved compared to the Mic Pro. The new transmitter offers 13 hours of battery life, extending to 34 hours with the charging case. A 5-minute quick charge provides approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes of usage, surpassing the 1.5-hour capacity of the previous model.
