Insta360 has introduced the Insta360 Mic, a new wireless microphone system positioned between the Mic Pro and the budget-friendly Mic Air models. The complete kit, which includes two transmitters, a wireless receiver, and a charging case, is priced at $249.99. Individual transmitters are available for $79.99, allowing direct Bluetooth connectivity to smartphones and cameras such as the X6, X5, and Luna Ultra.

The new device retains the 1.22-inch, six-color E Ink display found on the Mic Pro, which allows for customization with logos or colors. Key features include AI-powered noise cancellation and automatic gain control. The system offers a transmission range of up to 400 meters when used with the included receiver, which connects to recording devices via a USB-C port.

To reduce costs, the Insta360 Mic uses a single microphone instead of the triple-mic array found in the Pro version, limiting users to an omnidirectional pickup pattern. This hardware change makes the transmitter lighter at 19.4 grams compared to 19.7 grams. Battery life has been extended to 13 hours on a single charge, reaching up to 34 hours with the charging case.

Unlike the Mic Pro, which includes 32GB of internal storage, the new model relies on a microSD card slot for backup recordings. This design choice allows users to expand storage beyond the 32GB limit provided by the higher-end model. The receiver remains compatible with professional cameras, laptops, and various recording hardware.
