Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, has introduced 15 Tata Motors Punch.ev micro-SUVs into its police fleet. The vehicles were officially commissioned by Director General of Police C. V. Anand on 29 October at the City Armed Reserve headquarters.

The police department allocated seven of the new electric vehicles to Spandana, a specialized first responder unit focused on the safety of women and children. The remaining eight cars are assigned to standard city patrol operations.

The fleet consists of the Punch.ev 40 variant, which features a 95 kW motor and a 40 kWh LFP battery. This configuration provides a range of 468 kilometres under the MIDC cycle, with an estimated real-world range of 335 to 355 kilometres.

The vehicles are equipped with DC fast charging, allowing the battery to reach 80 per cent charge from 10 per cent in approximately 30 minutes. The Smart+ trim includes three drive modes, paddle shifters for regenerative braking, and an 8-inch infotainment system.

Each unit in the Smart+ 40 configuration is priced at ₹1.119 million. The overall retail price range for the Punch.ev model series starts at ₹979 000 and reaches up to ₹1.299 million.
