At the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference held in Beijing from October 21 to 23, Huawei Senior Vice President and Yinwang CEO Jin Yuzhi discussed the future of autonomous driving. He emphasized that as the industry transitions from L2 driver-assistance systems to L3 and higher, the liability for accidents shifts from the driver to the system, necessitating significantly higher safety standards.
Jin Yuzhi reiterated the strategic positioning of Huawei Yinwang as an electronic screw supplier. The company aims to serve as a provider of intelligent components for the connected vehicle era. This strategy ensures that Yinwang does not compete with vehicle manufacturers, but instead supports them in producing and selling high-quality cars.
The executive highlighted that Huawei intends for its Qiankun platform to function as a public infrastructure for the automotive industry. By collaborating with global automakers and industry associations on standards and regulations, the company seeks to foster sustainable development in the autonomous driving sector beyond the Chinese market.
