Huawei unveiled the Mate 90 smartphone series in Shanghai, featuring five distinct models: the Mate 90, Mate 90 Pro, Mate 90 Pro Max, Mate 90 Pro Max Collector’s Edition, and Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design. Prices for the new lineup start at ¥5,999 and reach up to ¥12,999.

The series introduces new Kirin chips: the Kirin 9030 for the base model, the Kirin 9035 for the Pro, and the Kirin 9050 Pro for high-end versions. The Kirin 9050 Pro features a new logical folding architecture, delivering 125 TB per second inter-die bandwidth and doubling on-device AI performance.

Display upgrades include second-generation Linglong screens with peak brightness of 12,000 nits. The Pro Max and RS models support BT.2020 color reproduction. Durability is enhanced with third-generation Xuanwu Kunlun Glass, which Huawei claims offers 20 times better drop resistance than previous models.

The camera system utilizes the third-generation Red Maple technology, improving color accuracy by 37% and skin-tone reproduction by 62%. The Pro Max model includes a 200-megapixel telephoto lens and an 18-stop high-dynamic-range main camera, achieving a CIPA 7.5 stabilization rating.

Connectivity is bolstered by an integrated antenna architecture that increases signal strength by 2 dB. The Pro Max model supports four SIM cards with three active simultaneously. High-end devices also run a 30-billion-parameter MoE multimodal on-device AI model for local task processing.
