Huawei has updated its smart home storage system to support full-device backups for devices running HarmonyOS. This feature is available for smartphones and tablets with software version 6.1.0.125 or higher, alongside specific updates for the storage hardware and the Smart Life application.
The latest HarmonyOS 6 adaptation enables seamless gallery backups for devices running HarmonyOS NEXT. Users can now manage photo storage by backing up to the cloud or local home storage, as well as utilize new tools for merging duplicate photos and cleaning up redundant files.
First introduced in 2022, the Huawei home storage line offers various capacities ranging from 4TB to 16TB, with a diskless option available. The system supports user-configured setups, allowing for a maximum total storage capacity of 40TB by combining two 20TB drives.
