A new smartphone model featuring a flat display with narrow bezels is currently in the early engineering testing phase. Industry reports suggest this device is being developed by Honor.
The device is expected to feature a screen size of approximately 6.39 inches. This development follows previous reports indicating that Honor is also working on a foldable smartphone equipped with a 2nm Snapdragon chip, which is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2027.
Market analysts note that the Android smartphone segment is seeing increased activity in the flat-screen category. OPPO is expected to be the first manufacturer to launch such a device, with Honor following as the second major player in this specific market niche.
The broader market for large-screen and foldable devices remains active. Huawei recently launched the Pura X View, which is marketed as the world's first flat-screen device of this type. It features a 16:9.5 aspect ratio, runs on the Kirin 9030S processor, and starts at a price of ¥5999.
