The iPhone Duo, Apple's first foldable smartphone, has launched on JD.com ahead of the official release scheduled for tomorrow. The device starts at ¥15 999. The handset features a book-style inward folding design with a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner screen. Both displays support 120Hz ProMotion, always-on functionality, and reach a peak outdoor brightness of 3000 nits.
The device is powered by the A20 Pro chip, manufactured using TSMC's 2nm process, and includes a large VC cooling plate. Apple claims this configuration delivers up to 35% higher sustained performance compared to the iPhone 17 Pro. The chassis is constructed from aerospace-grade titanium, and the hinge utilizes a custom variable torque design consisting of over 100 components.
The phone measures 5.2 mm in thickness when unfolded and 11.3 mm when closed, with a total weight of 254 grams. Apple has replaced Face ID with a side-mounted Touch ID sensor. The camera system includes a 48-megapixel main sensor and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens, while the inner screen houses an under-display camera and the outer screen features a 12-megapixel selfie camera.
The iPhone Duo is exclusively compatible with eSIM technology and lacks a physical SIM card slot. JD.com requires that the device be activated upon receipt. Further sales batches are scheduled to be released through the platform.
