Homebase has introduced an AI assistant designed to automate administrative tasks for small business owners managing hourly teams. The tool focuses on scheduling, payroll management, and candidate screening, aiming to reduce time spent on desk work from hours to minutes.
In the event of a shift change, the assistant identifies potential replacements and manages outreach once the owner approves the action. For payroll, the software monitors timecards to detect errors, missing punches, and overtime trends before processing payments.
The platform also includes AI-powered candidate screening. Reuben Pressman, founder of St. Pete Athletic, reported processing over 3,000 job applications using the tool, which resulted in more than 1,000 hours saved.
This release builds on previous automation tools launched by the company in 2025, which have collectively handled over 4.7 million administrative tasks. Homebase currently serves more than 150,000 small business customers.
Homebase is a venture-backed company that secured $60 million in a Series D funding round in April 2024. The round was led by L Catterton Growth, with participation from existing investors including Bain Capital Ventures and Khosla Ventures.
