Global venture capital firm Headline has successfully closed its eighth European early-stage fund, Headline EU VIII, securing $400 million. The new capital is specifically earmarked for Seed and Series A startups across Europe, with a primary strategic focus on the artificial intelligence sector.
The firm, which has been active for over two decades, currently manages assets exceeding $5 billion. Its global operations span multiple cities, including Berlin, Paris, London, San Francisco, and Tokyo. The team supports founders from the initial seed stage through to global growth phases.
Headline maintains a strong portfolio of European tech companies, including Mistral, Black Forest Labs, and Attio. The firm notably backed Mistral during its 2023 seed round and has participated in every subsequent funding stage, including the company's $415 million Series A round.
Beyond initial funding, Headline assists European startups in expanding their operations to the United States. This support includes establishing legal entities, recruiting senior personnel, and preparing for cross-border listings, as demonstrated with companies like NGINX and Semrush.
Partner Jon Userovici highlighted the firm's capacity to lead initial rounds and follow up with investments of $100 million or more through its Global Growth Fund. The firm aims to remain a long-term partner for the next generation of European AI enterprises.
