Google has released version 2.1 of its Nano Banana image generation model. This update follows the initial launch of the 2.0 version, which debuted in February and supported image generation up to 4K resolution.
The company announced the release through social media channels without a major public event. According to Google, the new model offers improvements in visual quality, mask-based editing, and object consistency compared to its predecessor.
Nano Banana 2.1 is positioned as a more efficient alternative to the Nano Banana Pro model. Detailed technical documentation for the update is now available on the official Gemini developer portal.
The rollout of Nano Banana 2.1 is currently underway across several Google services. The integration includes Gemini, the AI-powered search mode, Google Flow, Stitch by Google, Google Ads, and the Gemini Enterprise Platform.
