Google has unveiled a universal Gemini AI agent designed to operate across various applications and devices. The tool was introduced during the Gemini at Work event on Thursday and is integrated into the Gemini Enterprise application. This platform allows users to manage tasks and interact with the AI from a centralized interface, streamlining workflows across different software environments.

The agent functions within Google Workspace apps, including Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Calendar. Furthermore, it supports integration with third-party platforms such as Slack and Microsoft 365. Because the system runs in the cloud, it maintains consistent context across desktop, web, and mobile devices, ensuring that information remains synchronized regardless of the hardware used.

The new agent features specialized sub-agents for specific job functions and can operate as a coworker with its own identity and a dedicated email address ending in @agents.company.com. The system automatically selects the most appropriate AI model for each task. Currently, the tool is available exclusively to enterprise customers through a private preview program.

This release follows the launch of the consumer-facing Gemini Spark agent in May. While Gemini Spark allows users to perform tasks across Workspace and the web, it operates through a separate interface within the Gemini app. The new enterprise solution represents a shift toward a more unified assistant capable of handling complex work assignments from a single window.
