Google has unveiled an experimental browser-based platform called Playground, designed to let users create simple games using text prompts. The system eliminates the need for coding skills, as users can define game rules, physics, characters, and environments through a chat interface. Projects can be started from scratch or by using existing templates.

The platform is powered by Google Gemini, Nano Banana, and Lyria models, integrated with a specialized game generation engine. Users can test their creations directly in the browser, keep them private, share them via links, or publish them in the Playground Explore gallery. Some game genres support multiplayer modes and leaderboards.

The service is currently free to use, though Google One subscribers receive higher weekly token limits. Access is restricted to users aged 18 and older residing in the United States. Looking ahead, Google intends to integrate the platform with Unity Spark, enabling the export of projects to the Unity environment for advanced 3D graphics and complex mechanics.
