Google Cloud experienced a widespread service outage in the Europe West 2 region starting at 11:00 BST on October 20. The disruption affected several core services, including Google App Engine, Google BigQuery, VMware Engine, Cloud NAT, and Google Compute Engine.

Major financial institutions, including HSBC, Revolut, Bank of Scotland, and Lloyds Bank, reported service interruptions. These organizations rely on Google Cloud infrastructure, which led to the cascading technical issues across their respective platforms.

Revolut confirmed that the outage impacted its entire operational suite. Customers faced difficulties with account registration, login processes, payment processing, money transfers, ATM withdrawals, stock trading, and cryptocurrency-related transactions.
