GoBTC Pay, a protocol developed by GoMining, recently tested its Bitcoin-based payment infrastructure for autonomous AI agents. The testing took place during the Agentic Commerce Pioneers Edition II hackathon, where participants were tasked with building agents capable of executing purchases from merchants.

The event, which ran remotely from September 10 to 20 with a final Demo Day in Toronto on September 21, attracted a diverse group of participants, including students, machine learning engineers, and corporate teams. Roman Yermoshin, General Manager at GoBTC Pay, served as a judge for the competition.

The protocol is designed for direct settlement on the Bitcoin base layer. It utilizes a 2-of-3 multi-signature architecture involving the user, GoMining, and a regulated custodian. Transactions are routed via GoMining’s private mempool using Stratum V2 infrastructure to ensure priority processing.

Under the current fee structure, payers are exempt from transaction fees, while merchants are charged 0.2%. This fee is split between the wallet provider and the miners. The system aims to facilitate economic tasks for agents, such as purchasing products or paying for services without human intervention.

GoBTC Pay officially launched in May. Following the initial release, the company introduced its Gen1 SDK and API to third-party developers in June. This allows various ecosystem participants, including merchants and wallet providers, to integrate the payment infrastructure into their own platforms.
