Electric vehicles are gaining significant market share globally. In Norway, 98% of new car sales are electric, while in Denmark this figure exceeds 80%. China, the world's largest new car market, reported that 67% of new vehicles sold in September 2026 were electric, with 82% of its bus fleet operating on electric power.

Maintenance requirements for electric vehicles are minimal compared to internal combustion engine cars. EVs lack complex systems like exhaust, multi-speed transmissions, and radiators. Lithium-ion batteries in new models are designed to last over 10 years, and many vehicles can reach 500 000 miles without major repairs.

Charging infrastructure continues to expand, with Tesla Superchargers now featuring 8 to 32 stalls every 100 miles along major US highways, and some locations offering over 100 stalls. Since February 28, 2023, most Tesla Superchargers have transitioned to the North American Charging Standard, allowing use by other EV brands.

Tesla currently offers specific incentives for new vehicle purchases. Buyers of a Model 3 or Model Y using a referral link receive three months of Full Self Driving, while Cybertruck buyers get a 1000 USD discount. Additionally, Tesla is providing one year of free Supercharging with the purchase of new Model 3 Premium or Performance trims.
