The Agent-Ops project, an open industry methodology for collaboration between engineers and AI agents, has released its version 0.4.0. The initiative was launched by Git in Sky in the spring of this year.
The new version is currently available as a public normative candidate on GitHub and GitVerse. It serves as a draft of rules designed for professional discussion and further development within the IT community.
The project has expanded beyond a single company. During the IT Elements 2026 conference, engineers from two additional organizations joined as maintainers, marking the transition to a collaborative effort.
The methodology focuses on restructuring IT operations, specifically defining roles for problem investigation, solution proposal, authorization of changes, and accountability in the event of system failures.
