German Federal Minister of Transport Volker Wissing has expressed his support for the approval of Tesla's Full Self-Driving (Supervised) system within the European Union. He emphasized that a unified approval process for such technologies across the bloc would be a positive development.

Wissing noted that the regulatory process for the FSD system involves addressing complex technical challenges and establishing clear liability frameworks. Despite these hurdles, the minister stated that his primary goal is to facilitate the implementation of new automotive innovations.

The minister also suggested that the deployment of the FSD (Supervised) system could potentially improve road safety in Germany. He expressed a desire for the technology to be available for use in Europe as soon as possible.

Tesla previously announced in April that it expected the FSD (Supervised) system to receive approval across the European Union within a few months. The system is classified as Level 2 driver assistance, requiring the driver to remain attentive and prepared to take control of the vehicle at all times.
