Logistics company Geodis has placed an order for 110 heavy-duty battery-electric trucks from manufacturers Renault Trucks and Volvo Trucks. These 44-tonne vehicles are scheduled for delivery by May 2027 and will primarily operate on urban and long-haul routes within France.
Following this acquisition, the electric fleet of the company's European Road Network division will increase to 190 vehicles. Geodis has not disclosed the specific distribution of the order between the two manufacturers or the technical specifications of the trucks.
To support the new fleet, Geodis is developing electric corridors with charging points spaced every 250 to 500 km. The company currently utilizes a network of approximately 60 charging points and plans to expand this infrastructure to more than 200 locations by 2030.
The expansion aligns with the company's decarbonization strategy and its membership in the European Clean Trucking Alliance. Geodis, a subsidiary of the French SNCF Group, reported revenue of €10.6 billion in 2025 and employs approximately 48,000 people.
