Geely has launched its Smart Charging C12 network, featuring ultra-fast charging stations with a peak power of 2,250 kW. The infrastructure is currently operational in five Chinese cities: Hangzhou, Shanghai, Ningbo, Jiaxing, and Xi’an. This technology allows compatible Zeekr and Lynk & Co models to charge from 10 to 97 percent in under nine minutes.

The system utilizes the Xingrui PowerMind AI platform, developed with StepFun, to manage charging strategies and monitor battery temperatures. Thermal management is maintained by a liquid cooling system that spans from the storage unit to the vehicle battery, keeping peak temperatures below 65 degrees Celsius.

Current models like the Zeekr 001 and Lynk & Co 10 reach peak charging power of 1,100 kW. Geely is also working on a 1,000-volt architecture to reduce 10 to 80 percent charging time to under 5.5 minutes. The company plans to expand its ultra-fast charging infrastructure to Germany, seeking local partners for stations with capacities up to 1,000 kW.

The rollout follows the introduction of the 12C Shendun Golden Battery. Geely's move competes with BYD, which has deployed 10,000 Flash Charging stations and aims for 20,000 by the end of 2026. Additionally, Sunwoda plans to build 10,000 megawatt-class stations by the end of 2027.
