Owners of the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 crossover have reported a discrepancy between the advertised and installed infotainment system chips. While buyers expected the 7nm Dragon Eagle One (E04) platform, vehicles from the 2025 model year were equipped with the 12nm ECARX E02 SoC. This issue has led to a surge of complaints on the Car Quality Network platform, making the model the most problematic vehicle listed over the past month.

Geely Galaxy clarified that the Starship 7 was designed to feature both E02 and E04 platforms corresponding to different driver assistance capabilities. The company stated that the E04 version was only introduced in the fourth quarter of 2025. Following reports of unsatisfactory performance with the initial configuration, the manufacturer is currently evaluating the technical feasibility of upgrading existing E02 systems to the E04 platform.

Starting November 15, Geely will offer compensation packages to 2025 model year owners. These include a five-year extended warranty for the multimedia system and a trade-in voucher worth up to ¥10 000, which is approximately $1 500. It is noted that the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 is marketed as the Geely EX5 in Russia and the Belgee X80 PHEV in Belarus.
