Global Container Terminals (GCT) operates at the Port of Vancouver and has committed to reducing absolute emissions by 45% by 2030, with a goal of reaching net zero by 2050. The company received the BC Hydro Luminaries Project of the Year award for its fleet electrification efforts.

The terminal operator uses Peterbilt 220EV lubrication trucks and 520EV tankers. The 220EV model features a battery capacity of up to 282 kWh and 259 kW of continuous power. The 520EV model is equipped with a 400 kWh battery and provides 400 kW of power.

These vehicles support existing operations, including a fleet of Peterbilt 579EV Class 8 trucks used for container hauling. These trucks are part of the ELECTRA pilot program, which provides subsidized 60-month lease terms for electric semi trucks and charging infrastructure to five shipping companies.
