Rohit Patel, former director at Meta Superintelligence Labs, has left the company after eight years to launch his own startup, Ndoc. The platform is designed as an AI-native workspace intended to replace traditional office suites like Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Ndoc integrates three main components: a Stage tab for presentations, a Narrative tab for analysis and citations, and a Model tab for datasets and Python scripts. The platform allows users to verify AI-generated work by providing access to the underlying code and formulas.
The startup uses a mix of open-source models for its development. Patel plans to open-source the .ndoc.html file format to ensure interoperability and prevent vendor lock-in. Currently, the project is run by a team of three and has not yet raised external funding.
To facilitate adoption, Ndoc includes connectors for importing data from existing enterprise tools. Patel intends to focus on user traction and product validation before seeking investment, prioritizing rapid execution over immediate perfection.
