Ford plans to debut the Fathom electric truck in early 2027, with pre-orders opening at the same time. The vehicle features a starting price of $29,945, which includes a destination charge of $1,595. The truck is built on the new Universal Electric Vehicle architecture, incorporating aluminum unicasting and a simplified wiring harness to reduce production costs.

A key feature of the Fathom is its integrated bi-directional charging system, which allows the truck to supply over 10 kW of AC power to a home. When used with the Ford Home Power Station and Home Backup Power Panel, the vehicle can manage energy consumption based on grid pricing and provide backup power during outages.

The Fathom comes equipped with a lithium-iron-phosphate battery pack, offering a range of up to 300 miles, or 483 kilometers. Standard features include the BlueCruise hands-free highway driving system and Apple Maps integration. The truck was developed by Ford's skunkworks team based in California.
