BMW plans to launch its first three-row electric SUV, the iX7, in mid-2027. The model will serve as the flagship of the brand's electric lineup, positioning itself as a luxury offering within the manufacturer's portfolio.
The vehicle will be produced at the BMW Spartanburg plant in South Carolina starting in late 2027. Prototypes currently undergoing testing show design updates, including a slimmer, upright Kidney Grille and pillar-mounted door handles instead of traditional pull-style ones.
The interior design is expected to mirror the new X5, incorporating technology from the 7 Series sedan. Optional features may include a 31.3-inch 8K Theatre Screen, a 14.6-inch passenger display, and touch panels on the rear doors.
Technical specifications for the iX7 are expected to align with the iX5 60 xDrive, featuring a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. The platform will likely support an 800V electrical architecture, enabling high-speed charging capabilities.
