Mozilla has expanded the Smart Window AI feature in the Firefox desktop browser, introducing automated form filling and website monitoring capabilities. These tools are currently available to a select group of beta testers in the United States and Canada.

The AI form filler uses Google's Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite model to process data. Beyond standard fields like names and addresses, it can extract context from open browser tabs to draft responses for open-ended questions or fill in professional experience based on existing online portfolios.

The new website monitoring tool allows users to track price drops, product restocks, or job postings by entering the /watch command in the Smart Window chat box. The feature utilizes the Qwen model to detect changes on specific web pages.

Users can set monitoring tasks to run daily or weekly. Each task supports up to 5 web pages, with a limit of 15 active tasks per user. Tasks automatically pause after 60 days of inactivity and stop completely after 90 days if no changes are detected.

Mozilla plans to roll out these features to additional markets in the coming months. While the AI-powered form filling requires cloud data transmission, the browser retains its standard, non-AI autofill functionality for saved personal information.
