Fiat has updated its Topolino electric quadricycle to meet US federal requirements for Low-Speed Vehicles. The 2027 model year features an increased top speed of 40 km/h, which allows the vehicle to be driven on public roads with speed limits up to 56 km/h, depending on local regulations.
The company is providing a complimentary upgrade kit for owners of the 2026 model to bring their vehicles up to the new street-legal standard. Previously, the quadricycle was restricted to private property use due to its lower maximum speed of 31 km/h at the time of its initial US launch in July.
The 2027 lineup includes three variants: the standard Topolino, the Dolce Vita, and the new Open Air model. The Open Air version features a retractable soft-top roof combined with standard doors. All versions are equipped with a 6 kW electric motor and offer a range of 74 km.
Each of the three variants starts at $13 995, excluding destination fees. The updated 2027 range also introduces a full-colour digital instrument display. According to FIAT North America, the updates aim to expand the brand's presence in the micromobility sector.
