The author tested five API routers—OrcaRouter, TeamoRouter, OpenRouter, Token Harbor, and NaraRouter—to verify their GPT-6 Astra model responses against the official OpenAI API. The evaluation included 30 initial tasks and two SVG generation tasks: a pelican on a bicycle and a flamingo on a unicycle.
The SVG tests were conducted on October 22 and October 25, 2026. Each request used a 6000-token limit without temperature or reasoning_effort parameters. All seven calls per task returned successful HTTP 200 responses containing valid SVG code.
In the 30-task comparison, OrcaRouter, TeamoRouter, OpenRouter, and Token Harbor matched both official OpenAI responses. NaraRouter showed discrepancies in five tasks. For the SVG tests, the same four platforms matched the official API results, while NaraRouter failed to render spokes in both images.
Pricing data indicates that using these platforms is approximately 85.9% cheaper for input tokens and 88.1% cheaper for output tokens compared to the official OpenAI API. The author noted that further testing with larger sample sizes is required to confirm the consistency of these findings.
